Collection & school/prison handover guide (draft)
This is an internal procedure to prepare for a future authorised book drive. It is not permission to schedule real collection or distribution.
- Receive the offer: Donors provide only a rough count and general area on WhatsApp. Thank them without promising a pickup.
- Plan privately: Once authorised, a coordinator checks staffing, routes and storage capacity. Any detailed collection address stays in a one-to-one WhatsApp conversation.
- Receive safely: For a future live drive, count physical books and check their condition. Keep a real inventory/receipt separate from TEST offers.
- Agree recipient permissions: Coordinate with school leadership or the responsible prison authority before any handover.
- Record only verified impact: Offered books, collected books and distributed books are different figures and must never be conflated.
Collection readiness — what is still missing?
A quick, optional planning checklist for future school and prison donations. Choose a destination and tap the items the team has considered. Ticked items are not independently verified permissions or approval. This worksheet stays in your browser and does not change your saved TEST offer.
0 items ticked
Choose a recipient type to check the required permissions.
Even if every checkbox is ticked, ReadMalawi has NOT authorised pickups, collection, recipient handover, fundraising or payments. Formal external permissions and founder approval are required separately.
Coordinators, transport and institution discussion drafts
Uses the Schools / Prisons / Both choice in the Collection Readiness section above. Generates a proposed team-role list, transport and storage checklist, and a school or prison discussion-letter template. No staff, vehicles, institutions, dates or costs are invented.
Planning only: this is not a permission letter to send now. Founder authorisation, appointed coordinators and independent school/prison permission must precede any real collection or delivery.
TEST coordination snapshot
Sample collection plan — no dummy entry needed
Preview a fictional 15-book offer from Lilongwe. This is computed entirely in your browser; no database record or donor contact is created.
Record a TEST offer from WhatsApp
Record only the approximate number of books and a general area. Type them below, or use the optional WhatsApp paste helper. Donor identity, phone, address, book titles and authors are never required. Nothing is posted to WhatsApp.
Follow-up register
The only available statuses are TEST planning stages. There is deliberately no “Collected” or “Distributed” option.
No data loaded yet.
For real collections later, ReadMalawi will first need approved coordinators, collection routes, safeguarding and institutional permissions. This page does not establish a registered charity or a confirmed distribution programme.
